BUILDING HISTORY

A notable part of the West Chelsea Historic District, STORIED was originally home to one of the city’s first taxi garages in the early 1900s. In a later chapter it served as Annie Liebovitz’s home and studio, Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet’s studio and most recently, Chelsea Factory, which provided subsidized resources, responsive partnership, and transformative experiences for New York City's artists.
